Kelly Klatik has over 27 years of experience in the investment banking/management and alternative asset sectors. He was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada and is a Managing Partner at Cypress Hills Partners, a boutique alternative merchant banking firm, which he co-founded in 2014. Kelly oversees the firm’s origination and operational activities. He also manages the co-origination process with institutional investors.
Prior to Cypress Hills, Kelly served for 4 years as CEO and co-founder of an alternative asset/natural resource based company listed on the TSX-V, which harvested one of the oldest paper based historic data sets resulting in the approval of an $800 million build. Before this, Kelly spent over a decade as Director, Investment Banking at M Partners, and Vice President of Equity Capital Markets for IPC Securities, part of the Montreal based Power Financial Group. He successfully executed on numerous transactions and deal flow totaling over $4.0 billion since 2000, primarily in structured financial products and public equity financings weighted towards the Consumer Finance, Commercial Finance, Technology and Natural Resource sectors. Kelly serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Merchant Advance Capital Ltd., an origination partner company of Cypress Hills.
Kelly received a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan, a MBA from Royal Roads University, and earned the Institute of Corporate Directors designation (ICD.D) from Rotman School of Business. His vast experience and insight in technology, data analytics, finance, capital raising, and strategic planning are key elements in the progress and success of LUXXFOLIO.
Brad Farquhar is Co-Founder, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Input Capital Corp. Input is the world’s first agriculture commodity streaming company and is publicly traded on the TSX Venture Exchange. Previously, Brad was a founding partner at Assiniboia Capital Corp. and co-founded Assiniboia Farmland Limited Partnership, the oldest and largest farmland investment fund in Canada. The company was sold to the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board in 2014 for $128 million.
Prior to co-founding Assiniboia, Brad spent 15 years as a senior political advisor at the federal and provincial level in Canada and has been involved in election assistance projects in Ukraine, Tajikistan, Egypt, and Jamaica. He has taught political science at the University of Regina, and served on the board of the International Centre for Human Rights & Democratic Development in Montreal.
Brad has been an active impact investor around the world over the last decade, advising and investing in companies located in such diverse places as West & North Africa, Central Asia, the Middle East, Australia, Nepal, Mongolia, Ukraine, Maldives, and Dubai. He has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Electoral Governance from Griffith University in Australia and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Providence University College in Manitoba.
Brad is currently a member of the board for various venture capital, environmental and real estate firms spanning across the globe. His deep seeded global relationships along with his business acumen will bring considerable value to LUXXFOLIO.
Dr. Byron currently sits on the board of five publicly-traded companies and has had executive roles in several others, bringing to LUXXFOLIO over 30 years of domestic and international experience, taking and managing companies from early stage to public listing.
He has provided consulting services to several junior explorers on African and South American gold and diamond projects, and co-founded a number of exploration companies with interests in North and South America. Dr. Byron was Vice President, Exploration of Aurora Platinum Corp. until its sale to FNX Mining in 2005. As the initial Vice President, Exploration of Lake Shore Gold, he directed expansion of their exploration projects in the Timmins Gold Camp and oversaw the growth of the Timmins West deposit to more than 1.2 million ounces of gold, laying the foundations for the now producing gold mine. In 2008, he joined Nighthawk Gold Corp. and began developing projects in the Northwest Territories. As Director and Chief Geologist he supervised the acquisition and advancement of the former producing Colomac Gold mine into a new multi-million ounce opportunity.
Dr. Byron is a professional geoscientist registered in Ontario and the Northwest Territories, and holds advanced degrees in Geology, including a PhD from Carleton University of Ottawa, Ontario. His deep understanding of financial statements and senior office public market experience will bring tremendous value to the growth of LUXXFOLIO.
Anthony has over 25 years of experience in the corporate finance and communications industry. His diverse skill set uniquely positions him to understand and work with a variety of businesses and ventures from law to technology to digital media. Anthony has worked in both the private and public sectors. He has been a provincial and national representative on national and international committees and projects.
Anthony is currently the Vice President, Operations and Corporate Affairs for Cypress Hills Partners, a boutique merchant banking firm focussing on the origination and specialty lending marketplace.
Anthony studied philosophy and politics for three years in Canada and Great Britain before earning his law degree from the University of British Columbia. His corporate affairs experience in both the private and public sectors will bring tremendous value to LUXXFOLIO.
